Feeling the slump?

We've all fallen into that trap or vicious circle of "my diet has been so bad, so what's the point of exercising?" This can be particularly hard when everything in your normal routine is disrupted, like the way we are currently living under tough restrictions. As a knock on effect you might then find yourself saying "it's ok, I'll get back into it soon".

The question is though when will you and which one will you improve first, diet or exercise?

My advice is simple. If your diet is not on track and you're struggling especially as the weather turns colder, that's more of a reason to stay active. It not only helps your body stay healthy but you're also burning off all the excess calories you consume. On the flip side if your diet is on track and you can't get motivated to exercise, start with the basics - even just getting out for a walk for 30 mins a day or getting to 1-2 online sessions a week and building from there. Don't set yourself unrealistic targets to get back into your old routine from the get go. Build slowly so you will be more likely to maintain it again in the future.

Food for thought. 1 is better than none. Try avoid falling into that trap, you will eventually turn the corner again and will feel so much better about yourself that you didn't give up both once you're back to having a balanced diet with regular exercise.
