New Year, New You!

Hello to you all out there & a very happy new year to everyone!

I hope you have all enjoyed the festive period and enjoyed some down time at some point across all the public holidays.

2024 has arrived and without sounding to cliche, now is the time to set some new goals and start the year off with a fresh mindset and routine. In this post I will briefly talk about tips to help you reset your mindset and routine when it comes to food and exercise!

As we know it can be easy to fall out of routine when it comes to healthy eating, especially when we have parties and catch ups planned which can often derail us. However, we can become undone if we don’t set ourselves a plan to get back on track when we go back to our regular life and work routine. If we don’t plan to resume where we left off, we simply just continue reaching for the convenience foods and drinks. After a while this takes a toll on the body and we start to feel sluggish, or under the weather because we aren’t fueling ourselves correctly. So, how do we break the cycle and make that so called plan? Here are a couple of things you can do that can help:

  • Set a date or time that you can commit to beginning your new routine or resume your usual routine.

  • In the week leading up to your start date, start some positive self talk so you can encourage yourself and get yourself excited about feeling fresh and ready to start 2024 strong! This is your mindset!

  • Ensure you plan your meals and menu for a whole week at a time. This helps you avoid convenience foods.

  • Go shopping at the start of the week and buy your whole weeks worth of food, this way you know what you have and you won’t want to waste it.

  • Work with a friend or your partner and follow the plan together. This way you can encourage each other to stay on track.

The hardest part is re starting and finding your feet again, once you do this you’ll start feeling good again and you will want to keep going.

Let’s talk about exercise, what can you do to kickstart your fitness regime for the new year or to get back to your regular routine?

  • SImilar to the above, set a start date and go with it! Make it non negotiable with yourself!

  • Try something new this year! If you feel like you needed something to spice up your week then try something like our Bootcamp Cranbourne or Bootcamp Blackburn!

  • Incorporate some mindfulness to avoid becoming stressed, especially as you try to juggle work, exercise, food and life! Things like Pilates, yoga and our online yoga are perfect!

  • Plan your week of exercise just like you plan your meals for the week. Set your week up with what you know is achievable and get it done.

  • Workout with a friend!

  • Chat to a Personal Trainer (like me!) and see how I can help you stay motivated and stay on track!

That’s all for this blog this month, I hope this helps you start the new year strong!
